Arts at Betsy Ross

Art Program

Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School has a comprehensive arts program. The arts are integrated throughout the curriculum during the course of a school year. We believe in educating each student in all art modalities, specifically theatre, dance, visual art, and music. The student selected emphasis class, which meets twice a week, provides an in-depth and intensive program of study in their chosen art form. Core classes offer students a chance to be exposed to all arts classes in a more general curriculum. All art programs have the opportunity to display their work throughout the community.

Visual Arts

The Visual Arts Department uses a multi media approach to enrich student learning and provides emphasis students the opportunity to display their work in the end of the year art exhibition titled "As Far As The Eye Can See". Visual art methods include:

- Drawing - Glasswork
- Painting - Photography
- Sculpting - Video
- Printmaking - Claymation
- Explorations of found objects - Story boarding
