WELCOME TO MY WEB SITE.
To help you understand my Power School grade entries, I will begin by explaining various policies and practices.

GRADING POLICY
A GRADE OF 40 on any assignment means that the assignment was not completed.  The grade will remain until the work is made up.  If the work cannot be made up for any reason, that will be explained in an assignment footnote.
A GRADE OF 41 means that the assignment was handed in but was unacceptable for any reason and was was handed back to the student to be completed or done over according to directions.

TESTS AND QUIZZES ARE NEVER GIVEN A GRADE BELOW 50.
Normally, I will drop the lowest quiz and test grade at the end of the marking period.  Summer reading assignments count as a test grade.  If students don't do them or make them up by the end of the first marking period, the summer reading grade is the grade that is dropped.
Generally, tests & quizzes count as 50%, class work and projects count as 30%, and homework counts as 20%.  Power Schools automatically acknowledges the preset grade weights.
I work on the assumption that parents and guardians have access to the Power School grades and will use this access to track the child's report of assignment and homework completion.

DISCIPLINE POLICY
It is expected that students behave in a manner that facilitates their learning and the learning of others.  Therefore, behavior which interferes with the learning of others is not tolerated. A student's parent or guardian will be contacted immediately if the child can't behave adequately without home intervention.  Every September, students will bring home specific rule sheets which are to signed and returned to me.
