Welcome to my page! My name is Ms. Tanyu and I am a 7th & 8th grade ELA teacher. I graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science in English and Environmental Studies and also just finished my Masters of Arts in Education Leadership at Columbia University. I look forward to another amazing year!

2nd Marking Period Essential Questions

7th: How is author's point of view revealed? How does a societal issue impact the individual? How can the individual affect society?
8th: What is justice? Why does context matter? How do we know the true story of an event told from multiple perspectives?

7th Grade
  • CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.7.1 Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
  • CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.7.2 Determine two or more central ideas in a text and analyze their development over the course of the text; provide an objective summary of the text.

3) Write 3 annotations or make up your own question based on your reading and answer it
