Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School is a performing arts middle school designed to meet the needs of a population diverse in cultures, academic skills and learning styles. It is an environment where every child can begin to realize and appreciate his/her/their own potential and set in motion his/her/their individual development. Children are taught to see, think, move and learn in ways they have never been exposed to previously.
It is all of our students’ right to participate in arts classes each day as part of their comprehensive curriculum. Students at Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School study dance, music, theatre and visual arts at an advanced level with certified teachers and professional artists. We respect each other’s differences and revel in all of our community’s successes. Our culture and school climate is safe for self-expression, which allows students to be fearless in their endeavors and creativity. At Betsy Ross we actively engage the arts to build a bridge of engagement and expression within academics.
Our school community is built upon our R.I.S.E philosophy of Responsibility, Integrity, Safety and Engagement. We utilize those tenets of character & community to build strong, independent and responsible global citizens that seek to use their artistic abilities to impact the world surrounding them.
