NOTES ABOUT APPLYING
- Families interested in being a part of the Betsy Ross Academy of Arts & Design (Grades 7-12) community must participate in the New Haven Public Schools Interdistrict Lottery System to apply. For more information, please visit www.newhavenmagnetschools.com for guidance.
- Applications to enter the School Choice Placement Process will be available starting Tuesday, January 30, 2024 online at www.newhavenmagnetschools.com
- Sibling preference is granted to applicants who already have a sibling enrolled at Betsy Ross.
- This school year, we are accepting applications for Grades 6-9.
- Once enrolled, a family would not need to apply again unless the child(ren) withdraws.

- Visit Betsy Ross to see if it is a good fit for your family at any of our open houses that we will have throughout the enrollment period. Tours are available throughout the school year by appointment. Before the deadline to accept your seat, please visit Tavares Bussey, our Artistic Coordinator at Calendy, for dates and to make appointments for tours after January 30, 2025. Once the deadline to accept seats happens (April 2025), the time for tours will be significantly impacted due to the preparation needed for Spring Showcases.

ACCEPT & REGISTER
- Apply: Once you receive your notice of invitation to join Betsy Ross you can either IMMEDIATELY respond to ACCEPT your seat or you can take time to continue to EXPLORE our school before making your decision.
- Register: After you accept your seat, you will receive information from our School Choice & Enrollment office with instructions on how to register your child properly for the next school year. It will be important that you adhere to any deadlines and that you ask questions to ensure that you are going about this properly. You can ask questions by contacting the New Haven Magnet Schools website (linked above) or call Betsy Ross at 475-220-5312.
